Description

There are a few types of structures (poles primary among them) that are typically included in the grid modeling used by operations tools (DMSs). An analysis of what those structures are and the need for their inclusion in distribution grid model profiles should be done.

Decision

Oslo, 14 June 2023
Pole information should not have direct association between the pole and the electrical part of the model.
No changes are forseen in CIM18.
Discussion is ongoing on what to recommend.

19-Sep-2024 Joint TF Hybrid Meetings:
Revisited this issue. The Norwegian NC is working on a proposal for reporting the height of poles and the span. Based on today's discussion this is not something that would block the CIM18 timelines.
- Svein is tracking the Norwegian NC work and requested they provide that. If this is received within the CDV timeline then we can provide some type of reference within the relevant publications.
