Description

Busbar protection: End Fault protection
It is related to dead zone (to protected small section between breaker and CT).
In most cases, bus coupler is not having 2 CTs across the breaker to create overlapping zones and protect dead zone. Thus, with supervision of CB position (if breaker is open) and measuring threshold current of respective CT, BBP can be triggered to clear the fault in dead zone (solution depends on position of CT relative to protective zone).
In existing vendor solutions today, extension of modeling is used to create REFP (protection related function End Fault Protection). It should be defined in IEC 61850 model.
