OperationalLimit for BranchGroupNeed a means to apply the
Description
OperationalLimit for BranchGroup
Need a means to apply the general operational limit capabilities to BranchGroup rather than the fixed limit attributes on the BranchGroup class.
Proposed Solution
Suggest adding another optional association from OperationalLimitSet to BranchGroup. The direction on OperationalLimit type supplies the direction of flow relative to the BranchGroupTerminal direction.

Decision
19-Sep-2024 Joint TF Hybrid Meetings - Minneapolis:
Reviewed. Proceed with:
- Delete InfFeeder::Circuit with the intention to use ExtPowerTransferCorridor::Circuit
- The BranchGroup are used in multiple use cases and making the above changes might break some existing use cases. Therefore we will deprecate with the statement that we will support the use cases that are still using it.
- It should also be noted that BranchGroup is not been included in any IEC published standards/profiles. However, we know it has been used in local extensions.
- To address the above ticket we are including the ExtPowerTransferCorridor package that already includes these features in addition it supports the more advanced case where multiple circuits/branch groups have inter-dependency.
- We are encouraging all users of the BranchGroup to report back their use cases
Release Notes
The following model changes were made for this issue:
- The InfFeeder package and the Circuit class were deleted from the model
- The BranchGroup and BranchGroupTerminal have both been deprecated.
- The DocBranchGroup class diagram was deleted.
IMPORTANT:
It should also be noted that BranchGroup is not been included in any IEC published standards/profiles. However, we know it has been used in local extensions. We will support the use cases that are still using it for power transfer corridor. We are encouraging all users of the BranchGroup to report back any use cases beyond the power transfer corridor use case.
