CIM Issues #6712
UML descriptions for <<Primitive>> types in the Domain package need review and references to W3C and other standards migration into IS publications.
Description
Redmine issue #6635 (https://redmine.ucaiug.org/issues/6635) introduced a new URI <<Primitive>> class to our Domain package. As an outcome of a review of that work by WG13 discussions occurred around the existing text that exists for some of the descriptions for the <<Primitive>> types that exist in the Domain package (see the "BasicTypes" UML diagram from reference) whereby we need to review each class description and where relevant updated the publications to give clarity and the necessary URL references to the related W3C or ISO standards as relevant. This issue has been created to separately track such changes needed in IS publications and this issue closed out once completed.
Proposed Solution
The IEC 61970-552 & IEC 61968-100 [Need to be updated by the leads/members of these respective documents].
WG13 to review all UML descriptions for the primitive domain types and provide proposed revisions. Text removed from the UML should be summarized into a format that can then be provided to the leads. Currently, it is viewed that the 552 and Part 100 documents are in scope as to destinations for the "migration" of this text. For example, below is what we’ve moved from Svein’s original proposal for URI and have decided need to go into the 552 and 100:
• Relevant reference are: https://www.w3.org/TR/xmlschema-2/#anyURI%20[w3.org] and http://www.datypic.com/sc/xsd/t-xsd_anyURI.html
• anyURI reference XML Schema Part 2: Datatypes Second Edition (w3.org) [w3.org]
• Validation example: XML Schema 1.0 xsd:anyURI - Complete documentation and samples (datypic.com) [datypic.com]
Decision
16-Sep-2024 Joint TF Hybrid Meetings:
We discussed in the Monday PM session. Reviewed Svein's document on primitives and updated to reflect what we've agreed upon to add to CIM18. Svein will attach that document to this issue and at that point Chavdar will apply to the model and close this issue out.
