CIM Issues #6318
Rename the top-level IEC62325 package to "Market"
Description
Proposal to update the top level package names to be the following:
*GridCommunications
*SupportCommunications
*MarketCommunications
IEC62325 has constraints on using the term Market for the top level package due to the term "Market" already being used within the sub-packages and jCleanCim's dependency on the top level package name.
Decision
Reviewed again on 12-Jun-2023 at our hybrid meeting in Oslo:
Scott has recommended using "Economics" as the term is more generalized and can be utilized in a vertical utility that is not involved in markets. So this is more palatable broadly. It is recommended that WG16 consider how to address this nuance if it chooses to reject it.
This issue was discussed in the context of WG13 and WG14 and the Communication (suffix) was rejected. The remaining piece of this issue is simply resolution of what the re-naming of the IEC62325 package actually should be.
Most recent discussions were left with an agreement to attempt to perform the rename as "Market", test it in jCleanCim. If we proof out all works as desired we will leave it as "Market", otherwise we will address this with updated to jCleanCim.
02-Oct-2023: Chavdar and I performed the test in jCleanCim and Becky has been cleared to make this change and apply in the near term merge of her packages into the new merged model.
