Description

Per CDV country comments CH_71, NO64 & SE68 for 301 Ed7:

HVDC model needs more explanations and examples.

Proposed Solution

Add the proposal presented in Annex 1 (Proposed modifications related to HVDC) in 61970-301.

WG 13 - The sequenceNumber attribute is used the same for DC as it is for AC.

WG 13 (Oct. 23) - Agreed that ACDCTerminal.sequenceNumber is used the same for AC and DC. The description does not need to be changed. (NOTE: Discovered that all the below attributes were already modified in CIM17 prior to CIM18)

Agreed to add the sentence "The attribute shall be a positive value." to the following attributes:

ACDCConverter - maxUdc, minUdc, targetUdc, uc, & udc

CsConverter - maxIdc, minIdc, targetIdc

VsConverter - targetUpcc.

Review below with WG13:

Per country comments:

"Specify if target values are all positive values or can be negative or zero. Specify sign conventions. For targetUdc it is suggested to restrict to only positive values and for CsConverter to rely on CsConverter.operatingMode (inverter/rectifier) which would define the sign of Udc. ================================================================

Specify the relation between ACDCConverter.p, .q and the target values on active power, voltage, reactive power."

WG13 agreed that changes to the descriptions of targetUdc and the other target values should be added once the relationships between the detailed attributes has been further clarified.

Final proposal includes applying HVDC modifications as described in Chavdar's proposal (See email from Dec. 9th, 2019).

I am closing the issues as the changes are already imlemented in CIM17. The relation between the target valies and the types of control is also in the model in the respective enumerations.
