OperatingMode as CIMDataType string
This is probably not correct. The operating mode should not be a string nor the same for RectifierInverter and frequency converter. The attribute's have this type: RectifierInverter.operatingMode, FrequencyConverter.operatingMode. The error probably goes way back, but was noticed recently.

Proposed Solution

Model the correct enumerations or remove.

Remove the attribute and CIMDataType.

Decision

Note changed attribute OperatingMode.multipplier to OperatingMode.multiplier in 61970cim16v02.
FrequencyConverter.operatingMode deleted as suggested
