Description

Undocumented GeneratingUnit attributes
The following attributes lacks documentation
- GeneratingUnit.dispReserveFlag
- GeneratingUnit.energyMinActivePower
- GeneratingUnit.fastStartFlag
- GeneratingUnit.fuelPriority
- GeneratingUnit.lowerRampRate
- GeneratingUnit.raiseRampRate
- GeneratingUnit.spinReserveRamp
- GeneratingUnit.stepChange

Proposed Solution

(2010-12-14 email to WG13)
The following attributes lacks documentation
GeneratingUnit.dispReserveFlag:Boolean -
GeneratingUnit.energyMinActivePower (now called energyMinP) : HeatRate [CIM is documented= Heat generated, in energy pertime unit of elapsed time ]
GeneratingUnit.fastStartFlag:Boolean
GeneratingUnit.fuelPriority:Integer
GeneratingUnit.lowerRampRate:ActivePowerChangeRate GeneratingUnit.raiseRampRate:ActivePowerChangeRate
GeneratingUnit.spinReserveRamp:ActivePowerChangeRate
GeneratingUnit.stepChange:ActivePower

On the following I got positive feedback from our generation team:
fastStart - Indicates the generating unit has a fast start capability and implies the generating unit can potentially contribute to spinning reserve even while not spinning.
lowerRampRate - The normal maximum rate the generating unit active power output can be lowered by control actions.
raiseRampRate - The normal maximum rate the generating unit active power output can be raised by control actions.
The other attributes listed were recommended to be removed from standard.

Decision

2010-12-07/LOO
The attributes are related to AGC. The issue closed in wait for a use case.
Kendall will add the documentation.

(2011-02-16 kdd) Recommend follow suggestion to delete undocumented attributes and documente lowerRampRate, raiseRampRate and fastStart.

(2011-05-26 KDD) Added documenation as suggested and put off deletions until CIM16 because model is frozen. Issue closed and new issue 13_49 created on remaining items to be deleted in CIM16.

All attributes of GeneratingUnit had a period added at end according to IEC documentation guidelines.
Attribues to be deleted (issue 13_49) with no documentation were documented as "Recommended to be deleted from standard."
